Ultimate Headers 321 Stainless Steel Headers
Ultimate Headers 321 Stainless Steel Headers integrate a cutting-edge, patented design, created specifically for maximum performance and minimal weight, with 3D-engineered flanges, and superior 321 stainless steel to deliver a unique combination of elegance and horsepower. Born in World War II for aircraft engine exhaust manifolds by adding titanium to basic nickel/chromium alloy steel, 321 stainless provides reduced weight, plus increased resistance to material fatigue and thermal cracking in high-heat environments.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) processes are used to create Ultimate Headers and the unique Ultimate Flanges with their signature, high-tech, ribbed reinforcements that reduce weight, improve flange cooling, and lessen heat-induced warpage; while providing the required clamping forces to eliminate leakage. Ultimate 321 Stainless Steel Headers’ tight radius, investment-cast, 316L stainless steel elbows immediately turn the header tubes away from the exhaust ports with a radius smaller than the tube diameter (which can’t be done using a tube bender); holding the header tubes close to the block—perfect for engine swaps. Investment casting also maintains the desired wall thickness and avoids the thinner sidewall created by tube bending at the point where exhaust gas temperature and volume are at their highest.
